Four more days until Valentine's Day. Hallmark, Russell Stover Candy, jewelry stores and the flower shops continue racking up big bucks for those of us that take the nibble. Spending our own dollars to tell loved ones, hey, I love you. I want you to know, this year both Bill and I have taken the nibble, we are not, let me say that again, NOT immune.
I'm curious if we are even aware of the little ways we are told through out the year that we are loved. An unexpected card that comes to us not on any "Holiday". How about that touch? You know the one, that touch conveying you are mine and I love you so. Or the joy of a cup of coffee that meets your senses as you walk into the kitchen on a Saturday morning.
I'm going to give you a glimpse into my world, that has been a faithful witness of my Man's love for me. Many will laugh and that is okay, because it is precious between me and my Man. It happened again just this morning at home, but also on Monday at my office in my own personal "space". On Monday I took a picture knowing some how I wanted to incorporate it into my Valentine's writing for Higher Grounds.
Here, take a peek....

Love You. Bill has done this even as early as our dating days. ILY (I love you) would be on my desk pad. On my adding machine tape. Yes the tp roll. I've even been blessed to find it on my mirror with my lipstick. There are many other ways Bill tells me through out each and every day, I'm extremely blessed as he is creative.
Are we aware that the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE has paid the ultimate price to tell you that He loves you? He spent all. No money on earth and no devil in hell can do or pay what Jesus Christ & Father GOD did for you and I. Girlfriends and Guy friends, now that is some powerful love language.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Father God, thank You for loving me (us) so much that Your Son paid it all to say, Yolanda, I love you. (Insert your own name) Lord Jesus, may I be more aware than ever of that awesome Gift, and become creative in telling the one You have allowed to be my mate, that I love him/her. Not just on Valentine's Day, but every day. In the delightful name of Jesus. Amen.
Care to share your own love awareness that you've received?

So creative to express your devotion in the mundane of the day! It would definitely bring a smile and giggle to my heart to see that scribbled in unexpected places!
Blessings,
Denise
Yolanda,
On the tp? Special touch :) (small inserted snicker here, lol) I think it is sweet.
My hubby typed "I Love You" on a 8x11 paper; each letter was typed I Love You(such as the "I" was made up of the endearment). That is just one.
The Lord has shown me in so many ways!!

I love this story. There is nothing better than having a "thing" like that.... a language or a way to communicate that you only do with your spouse. I couldn't help but think of this past Monday... Tim had to fast beginning Sunday night for a medical procedure Monday morning. He loves his coffee as much as I do. When I got to the kitchen Monday morning, he had made (the night before) coffee for me. I just had to turn the switch.... even though he couldn't have any. Sounds silly to tell it now. But, truly it was a selfless act of love. Hugs to you tonight Yolanda!!! Kim
That is so sweet! It brought tears to my eyes! My husband does little things like that, when I least expect it. And to think..., it no where compares to the Love of our Father.
Blessings - Lisa
That is so sweet. Bill sounds like a great guy.
My man is so good to me too. I'm blessed.
He does a lot of nice things, but one thing I appreciate is that every morning when he leaves for work (way earlier than I have to get up) he always kisses me goodbye...even when I'm half asleep.
Ok, I'm headed to the bathroom with a pen to let my man know I love him. What a great idea!! He is always leaving me little love notes and today I will leave him one.
Thanks, Yolanda for sharing this.

I pray the Lord to allow me to express whatever is about to flow and hold back the tears as I'm in my office.
I am succom to tears. Oh how I long to just BE ABLE to express my love to beloved. Oh, what I would give to know I could freely express this love that has never left me in five years. I can't believe I've lived 19 months without this live close to me.
Bill would say ILY. Beloved and I would say 143. Standing for I love you by counting the number of letters in each word. I don't know where I found that many moons ago but I was the initiator. I think my beloved had a creative bone or two in him but my stupid ways restricted him. He would've never written on the mirror with my lipstick in fear that stupid me would become irrate at him using my lipstick and Heaven forbid mishape the tube or something. This never happened but I can imagine my reaction prevented him of many creative things.
I've since learned so so much and so much that I now want to share with my beloved.
My heart is so heavy. I've been trying this month to focus on the love I have (from God and others) and trying to share it with others. Change my focus from what's missing with beloved to what I can give to others. I already have a VDay email planned for many "single" people in my life to try to share my love with them this Saturday.
By God's grace shall I make it through this "sappy" holiday as I see it now. That's so pessimistic of me. Shame on me.
I pray the day that God resurrects my marriage that beloved and I will learn how to allow each other to express our love in such creative ways.
I loved to make these big signs from big paper and tape it across the mantel. I did this early in our marriage...I believe it was for NO reason. For the longest time...actually for two years (until he left) you know he hung that sign on the wall in the spare room. Yeah, a sign three feet wide, foot tall with colored markers hanging on our wall. My aunt was over once and so politely and sweetly said, 'may I read it'. So many precious times with us even amidst the pain and muck that covered us.
Pray for me during this 'holiday' and also as I continue to believe with all my heart that God will and is working to restore our marriage. I have one very faithful friend who is believing the same for her marriage. I have a new friend who wants to contact me and encourage me as God saved her marriage hours from the brink of divorce...an impossible looking marriage saved from the grave. What encouragement.
Thanks for this post, Yolanda. For sharing your precious, precious love. For allowing me to ramble and remember my very precious love with my beloved. It was real. It was there. May God remove the lies from beloved's heart that covers his memory of this and more importantly hides God's power from him.
Love,
Paula
Hi Yolanda,
My name is Ally and I found your blog through my SIL Kim (from Kim and her coffee).
What a sweet post.
Just today I was at Target looking at cards and although I looked long enough to make myself late back to work I ended up not picking any of the cards.
They were either too sappy for me or just silly. None expressed what I wanted them to.
And then I thought, why do I need to spend 5 dollars on a piece of paper to tell him I love him. And expect him to do the same.
I'd much prefer a secret message written on a roll of TP. :)
I left thinking that I would maybe hand write a note or letter to him and have our children make him a valentine, and you have encourged me to go beyond that.
We used to have that "secret communication" and I this made me realize that I think somewhere along the lines between 2 children work and just life we let it slip away.
And what a great reminder that no matter how much we love those around us our heavenly father loves us even more.
I look forward to getting to know you more through your blog and invite you to drop in on me as well.

The TP is tooo cute! I like hiding lil notes in books or cabinets that I know will be found. Well thats when I was with someone special. Either way, there are so many ways to show love and it doesnt take expensive gifts to show it. God shows his love everyday for us- all we have to do is look around and feel it.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaw... I love it! :) If I could get dh to change the toilet paper roll I'd consider myself blessed! :) J/K... I do have an adoring hubby who is VERY good at letting me know how much he loves me. Glad you have one too. :)
This is so precious! My hubby leaves me post it notes with the cutest messages on them all over my mirrors or unexpected spaces too. Just so precious.
Lovely post! Blessings to you!
God has truely blessed you with a creatively romantic husband Yolanda. What a joy that must be to your heart. Have a wonderful Valentines day together. :)
What a sweet post! Kudos to your creative husband! To me it's the little unexpectd things like this that really mean the most!

Yolanda - that is just about the sweetest thing! LY. I love it!
My sweet man has been out of town at a music/worship pastor's conference, and he surprised me at work today with a dozen of the prettiest pink roses (my favorite) and a card and lunch date.
We use to write "143" on cards - 1 for "I", 4 for "love" and 3 for "you" for the number of letters in each word...
Such a sweet memory and I have not thought of it in a long time.
You are a blessing to me - thank you!!!
Love you,
Jan
