Dwell from the Merriam-Webster on-line dictionary: 1 : to remain for a time 2 a : to live as a resident b : exist, lie 3 a : to keep the attention directed —used with on or upon
Dwell: to remain for a time. I think of slowing down, resting, pondering/meditating, being still, to listen. Psalm 46:10 NIV is a scripture that quickly comes to my mind as I'm writing this out this morning. "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
The acrostic that I came up with for myself using the word dwell:
Drinking
Wisdom
Else
Loosing
Likeness
If I will slow down and allow myself to drink in His wisdom then I will not loose His reflection/likeness when I look in the mirror. Because when I choose to dwell with HIM, then I take on HIS like-ness. I truly do not want to loose that!
I leave you with the verse that caused my heart to further share the word dwell with each of you today as well as for myself to dig a little deeper: "However, the Most High doesn't live in temples made by human hands. As the prophet says, ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you ever build me a temple as good as that?’ asks the Lord. ‘Could you build a dwelling place for me? Didn’t I make everything in heaven and earth?'" NLT
Father, Thank You once again for getting my attention. Thank You for the ability to have YOU dwell with-in me instead of a building or structure made by man's hands. Your temple is my body and I am humbled to KNOW that You and I will dwell with one another for eternity. I come asking that while here on earth that I be reminded to sit and dwell with You allowing the world to go right on by as we sit and drink of You. I love You Father! Amen.
Lovingly as I long to dwell with Him stepping towards Higher Grounds,
Yolanda

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
Rev 21:3 NIV
Great post, these two verses came to mind when I read it. Have a blessed day!!!!!
James 1:5 (New International Version)
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
John 4:14 (King James Version)
14But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Another wonderful post - I am currently undergoing an overhaul to God's temple...I'm working hard to lose weight! :) I would certainly love your prayers during this challenging season as I have a LONG way to go to make this a HEALTHY dwelling place for my Lord and Savior. Thanks, Yolanda...I love your inspiration!
Yolanda,
With so many life changes that constantly keep shifting around us it is nice to know that God is consistent and never changing.

I love the acrostic that the Lord gave you!! Wonderful, sweet friend! And that verse is a favorite. I am working on dwelling in His Presence.
Hugs,

That's inside of me! Living in my skin...because He is in me!
"Allowing the world to go right on by." I like that. What a restful devotion for the day.
I love your acrostic... and Laura's too! This post was perfectly timed for me. I just began Beth Moore's "A Woman's Heart - God's Dwelling Place" study this week. :)
I echo this prayer with you Yolanda. I love how much you are really hearing Him speak to you lately. There really is nothing greater than to be aware of His presence and His voice.
Love you!
Great acronym.
