Organizing

Don't ask me what came over me, I don't have a clue!! But in the midst of making and baking several dozen chocolate chip cookies for my Man, I was also cleaning out the pantry. I wished I would have had the fortitude of taking a before picture but take my word for it, Bill carted three sacks of expired can goods to the dumpster.
You know what? God's doing that to my heart this week as well!


Psalm 51:10 NIV "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me."

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."


Father, thank You for the beauty that comes with having done some major house keeping. Spiritually as well as physically. Thank You for the stamina that You give as it requires more than just the status qua, it requires going above and beyond. Lord, You have that kind of tenacity, You go above and beyond, thank You. I love YOU like crazy, Lord Jesus. Amen.

I am sooo glad to know that I'm not the only one who has a few garbage bags full of outdated canned goods removed from my pantry sometimes! Makes me feel lots better, believe me! Sometimes it's just so hard getting around to using them up before they expire.. I've threatened not to buy anymore canned goods till what's in the pantry is all used up.. but, that doesn't always work.. as it seems like there's those certain one's that we just so happen to use over and over again and find ourselves needing to go out and replace them, then, I find myself buying a few more cans of something that I already have in the pantry, and more than not, the new cans get placed right up front to be used sooner than the one's in the back would.. I just can't win! I think I'm going to resign from grocery shopping and... let me hubby take over.. Not!(wink)

I too find I have expired junk in my heart. I found a lot there yesterday - and then just as soon as I remembered them I remembered Christ and that I am a new being through Him and I am free! I praise God and am loving Him more and more through time. I cannot wait for what the future holds and what else He will reveal to me. I am awestruck at how abundant He is! God bless you and praise the Lord!

I need to clean out our pantry/utility room soon also. Waiting until the hot, hot weather is gone though. Your's looks totally awesome now girl ! It just makes me rest better at night even knowing things have been 'organized'. Same with my spiritual condition just as you said. I get so much outdated stuff in my spirit that I can't worship in the current!

Perfect scriptures to ponder today! And, funny enough, my boys had to clean and orgnize my pantry yesterday!! It looks NOTHING like yours!!Of course, I can find nothing either. But, that's ok--they completed a chore that is really not a lot of fun!! I did find out that we are out of p-nut butter! There were two empty jars sitting there. Why do boys put empty containers back in the pantry and the fridge??? Hmmm....

I love when doing something in the physical realm reminds me of something of the spiritual. Clean heart! Sometimes it takes a little time and effort... but so worth it!

Love this post! I always clean/organize my pantry in the fall and the spring! The expired junk in my heart needs cleansing more than that! Great analogy!

My kiddos start school next week and guess what two things are top on my list? Getting back into the Word MUCH more than I have been this summer and therefore doing some cleaning of my heart. And cleaning out/organizing my pantry which is currently a hot mess! :) Happy Weekend Friend!
