Bill and I went for a drive on Saturday afternoon, just the two of us and it was so refreshing. Getting us both out of the cabin for a bit and while we were out we also went for a short walk enjoying the presence of Christ and the spectacular views He has created. When Bill wasn't watching, as he had his eyes on the view, I became intentional on falling backwards right into the snow!
Why, you might ask, would Yolanda do such a thing? I'm here to tell you that the urge was so strong to be like a child and do something that would be totally unexpected of me. I made a snow angel! It was so much fun!! I laughed, Bill laughed, and it was sooooo cold!
That little simple action got me to thinking about how you and I, as Believers, should be expecting the unexpected. Believing and being watchful for MIRACLES!! I've been contemplating where I have been and where I see some of my friends are at in this journey called LIFE. At times, we tend to put our hope & trust in people and things instead of GOD. But that sets them up to be a false god and they are not 100 percent trust-worthy. They are human beings with faults of their own, their own baggage and bondage.
I want to challenge US, you and I, to EXPECT the unexpected from God! I believe that if we will allow God to be outside the box that He will prove Himself TRUSTWORTHY every single time. He is faithful! He is a HUGE God performing MIRACLES today just as he has since the beginning of time. As I've been contemplating how others leave damage across our hearts, my mind went to the positive that there is ONE who will never, ever do that to me or to you.
Hebrews 13:5 "I will never leave your or forsake you." We can BELIEVE that for all our worth....God is absolute! A quote from Our Daily Bread devotional: "Life is not always fair, but God is always faithful."
Exodus 34:6-7 Message ""God, God, a God of mercy and grace, endlessly patient—so much love, so deeply true—loyal in love for a thousand generations, forgiving iniquity, rebellion, and sin. Still, he doesn't ignore sin. He holds sons and grandsons responsible for a father's sins to the third and even fourth generation."
Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV "Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands."
Psalm 89:8 NIV "O LORD God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O LORD, and your faithfulness surrounds you."
1 Corinthians 1:9 NIV "God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful."
Father, I'm so in awe of You every time I turn around. You just blow my mind to Your touch upon my world. That You are faithful and will accomplish what You have promised or spoken in Your word to the depths of my soul. Father, I'm expecting the unexpected from You because You are MIGHTY. I love You like crazy, in the saving name of Jesus. Amen.

Yolanda: To me, "Expect the unexpected" is so right on target that it falls in the "as children" catagory.......so simple, so pure, so from the heart. I love this posting, in fact, it is probably my favorite....and believe me, I have read every one you have written ! Bill
Thank You Yolanda for reminding us to cut loose and believe God for BIG things! He is trustworty amd I love Him more today than yesterday!
Blessings - Lisa
Amen! He is constantly touching our lives, doing the unexpected for us. Give us eyes to see, Lord!
How sweet your hubby commented and has read all your posts. Very endearing. I dream of the day my marriage will be restored and beloved will read all of my posts.
Expect the unexpected...that indeed, is exactly what I'm doing. I have no faith in beloved to turn course and return to his covenant but I have ALL the faith in God to sway beloved in the right direction. Thank you, sweet Jesus.
Love,
Paula
I am so glad that you and your husband had this wonderful experience. It's so important for our marriages. I enjoy those moments with hubby too.
I stand with you on expecting the unexpected. Over the years I often say like Joyce Meyer, "expect the move of GOD suddenly!" Praise the LORD!
Hello Friend!
I so much needed to read this message today! I needed to remind myself that God is trustworthy. And to expect miracles from Him.
I've had an unexpected medical problem come up this weekend and have been quite nervous about it. Your post was comforting.
Thanks,
Marilyn
He is such a HUGE God and He is so much more trustworthy than we can imagine. Thank you for reminding us. I LOVE the snow angel~we don't have enough snow around here to do such a thing!!

As always my friend, you speak to my heart. I got a kick out of you making a snow angel!I want snow!
My husband always wants me to print out my post so he can read to. He isn't very computer literate....
You are a joy, yolanda.
I am off to study Esther!

Yolanda,
You make me laugh! Girl, I would have loved to see you! What am I saying, had I been there, our husbands would have been walking on as I made my own snow angel at the same time you were making yours! LOL!
I am looking for that miracle!
Miriam :0)
Sooo good!
I love this image of you, Yolanda--flapping your arms and legs and that magnificent smile of yours just beaming! Sounds like you are a fun lady to take a walk with!
Yes! Expect the unexpected! I was pleasantly surprised to receive your note in the mail today! That was fast! It always makes me smile to see the handwriting of one of my precious online sisters. Brings you even closer.
luv ya,
laura
Too cute!! Now where's pictures of that cabin?
I love the message here and I am looking for the unexpected in my day...the unexpected from Him!
Thank you friend!
In His Graces~Pamela
In my prayers last night, I reminded God about all the times he visited his people in dreams, through angels, through prophets, through burning bush kind of moments, and then I asked him for the same. Sometimes, we can't see the miracle because we're not looking for one...just like you said here.
I want to be more attentive, more expectant, more confident that when I ask for God's presence to be revealed that he will, in fact, reveal himself.
You were so brave to get in that snow. I simply snapped the pictures of my kids! But if you were with me, I'm pretty sure I could have been convinced to make one.
Happy Wednesday...great thoughts, also, on your previous post. I'm trying to avoid any comments about the day at this point.
peace~elaine
This IS a year of expectancy, isn't it? We can be trapped in expecting the worst, if we allow ourselves to be swayed by the world situation around us, or we can CHOOSE to expect God's BEST as He works it ALL TOGETHER FOR GOOD.
I'm choosing the latter - expectant of great things from a GREATER GOD!
Hugs,
Melinda
