Literally from Higher Grounds

**Picture is added**
This morning at the breakfast table we prayed for God to show us favor over our day. Specifically with His creation as we had plans to travel to the top of Trinchera peak in South Eastern Colorado. The only way to this peak that sits at 13,517 feet is by foot or 4-wheeler. It was an awesome 4 1/2 hours on our 4-wheelers. We saw so much beauty surrounding us it was simply amazing.

God showed off big time! We saw several does, a prairie chicken, a partridge, an abundance of wild flowers and at the very top....I heard a sound. I thought perhaps wolves, I even stated it sounded like that instead of dogs. Lo and behold in about 10 minutes down below us, out of the trees came at least 150 elk in a herd if not 200. It was the most amazing sight! I do have pictures but I didn't bring my card reader. Perhaps you are returning to get a glimpse of His majestic creation, as these animals truly are majestic! This is just one part of the meadow & elk, so you can imagine how many there were. AWESOME!

I do have a picture to share with you as I'm literally on HIGHER GROUNDS.

God is faithful, I truly desire to give Him thanks and honor for a magnificent day today. Not only today but each and every day. I close with my last scripture reading as it speaks loud and clear. I pray that it blesses you as well.

Micah 7:18-20 NLT "Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love. Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean! You will show us your faithfulness and unfailing love as you promised to our ancestors Abraham and Jacob long ago."

Father, thank You for delighting in showing me your unfailing love. Your favor, Your faithfulness, Your compassion. For pardoning my guilt and including me as the remnant. Thank You Abba. Amen.

Lovingly from Higher Grounds,
Yolanda

I'm a mountain girl....love those pics! Makes me think of the line in my favourite hymn: "When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur" "Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art!"

Looking forward to seeing the rest of your pics!
Blessings,
Joy

That is so neat. Thanks for sharing this. Kelley was just saying the other day as she sits on a beach in Florida that she wants to go to the mountains to see God's majesty.
Beautiful!

Over four hours in a 4 wheeler? That sounds like a long sit. It is true that we have to put something in to get something out. I can't imagine too many sights more thrilling than a huge herd of elk. What a glorious day for you and what a majestic God.

What an awesome picture. I love the mountains. I will take the mountains any day over the beach.

Yes, elk are pretty amazing things...especially the one hanging on my wall. Just about didn't get him in the french doors he is so big. Good grief... Life with a hunter.

It is fine to see God's work in grandeur; though you would have appreciated it more if you'd gone on your feet!

Wow! I am missing out on so much by being a "wimp"! ha Seriously, there's no way I would be able ride a 4-wheeler much less up a mountain for 4 1/2 hours! Plus I would be so terrified of seeing those wild animals you were so thrilled to see! How I long to moved to "higher grounds" in my life with the Lord and not be so bound up with my fears and insecurities!

Looking forward to seeing the other pictures!

Love ya,
Marilyn

That is so neat Yolanda!
You know I'm a firm believer in asking God for His favor. He loves to show off for us, especially when we're so thrilled when He does.
You look so cute by the 4-wheeler.
I was just telling my husband that our next vacation needs to be Wyoming or Colorado. This would be right down his alley.
Thanks for sharing.
Continue to have fun.
Love,
Valerie

Incredible pictures. I moved to Kansas from country like that, so always enjoy seeing pictures that remind me of home. Esp enjoyed the elk pic and that of a bear on your other blog. It is exciting seeing a bear in its natural habitat. Fortunately, all but one time I have been in a car when I did. (The one time I was walking the bear ran away. Whew).

Good post.
