Faulty reception

For a couple of weeks now we have been having the strangest problem with the electrical outlet in our bathroom. The left hand side of the sink will not run my blow dryer but all other electrical appliances absolutely work in this very same outlet. Yet my blow dryer works just fine on the right side of the sink in a different receptacle. It is about to drive me crazy because both my Man and I cannot figure this out. It truly does not make sense.

This morning God reminded me of this as a visual that I personally need to make sure that I am plugged in to the correct receptacle myself. The One, God Himself, that is LIFE giving!! Not the enemy that is faulty, crafty, and looks like he is the way to go. The choice to feed into the enemies hand will only later find oneself/myself totally not plugged in and not working (living) correctly.

Perhaps you are like me in my current season of needing to make sure that I STAY plugged in to the One that gives life as well as causes me to make wiser decisions. That equips me to stand against the enemy of my soul. Then I would like to encourage you with a scripture that I fell in love with yesterday from the New Living Translation.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 "Be on guard. Stand true to what you believe. Be courageous. Be strong. And everything you do must be done with love."

The enemy desires to intimidate you and I. He shoots straight at our hearts and often times does damage because our hearts are our command or control centers. Our hearts are sensitive and is where our feelings live. Paul encouraged me deeply yesterday and on into today to be on guard, to stand true to what I believe, to be courageous and strong , as well as to do everything with love.

Father, thank You for placing a new desire with-in me this morning for intimacy with You. I am thankful for the visual of the faulty reception in my bathroom to remind me that if I'm not careful, that I too can have a faulty reception and be found eating out of the devils hands. Lord, You are my greatest joy and You alone are my hope. May I be found trusting in You alone, as well as a heart and mind for obedience to You. Father, here I am. I love You Lord and I praise You in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Desiring a strong connection with the True Receptor here at Higher Grounds,
Yolanda

We must always be plugged in and all the wires must be working.
Great post.

Yolanda,

Not only do we need to be plugged in, wires working, but the appliance itself must be willing to do the work once the power button is pressed. Great post!

Yes, I,too, want to be plugged into the right place!

I have sorely missed visiting with my online Christian friends for the past week or more because of my step-mother's sudden passing.

Hope you are feeling better my friend!

I love how God can use anything to bring Him Glory - even a hair dryer and a faulty receptacle.

With the holidays upon us, I've been thinking alot about people in my life who... make it difficult to stay plugged in. I SO needed to hear this today.
I LOVE YA BUNCHES! THANKS for sharing what God gave you!

PLUGGED IN
AND STAYIN
PLUGGED IN
NO MATTER WHAT!

What a great post! Love this illustration and couldn't agree with you more. Especially important to read this now as we're heading into the holiday season, when busy schedules result sometimes in neglecting times of "plugging in" with our ultimate power source.

Blessings,
Tracy

Sorry, I had to chuckle. I have the same problem with electrical stuff - and I don't like working on it. I always call Rob (one of our local electricians) in to work on it. I've been zapped before, too, and I'm not a big of that!

Good application, though, to being plugged into the ultimate power source. Good devotional thought here. Thanks.

I always have to check and double check I'm plugged in to the right One! Sometimes the voice of the enemy seems louder.

Thanks for this...Gives me a reminder to check in with the right One!

Thank you for this important reminder...and the graphic way that you wrote about it.

It is so important to be plugged in to the source of our power. We couldn't go through this life on our own without getting recharged...

As I contemplate the season ahead, I must make a deliberate choice to stay "plugged in" to Jesus rather than be trapped by the season. Certain receptacles are better at providing the power. Amen?!

blessings to you this weekend~elaine

Great truth! He has been teaching me to keep my focus on Him, it is, rather He IS the answer to all! Lately my refrain is "focus, focus, focus!" :)

Thank you for the encouragement. I have felt the weight of oppression for so long and need to trust in the one who can lift me up.
